Abrasive Technology is a world leader in the manufacture of superabrasive grinding wheels and tools. CHEMICAL ENGINEER

Abrasive Technology, a world leader in the manufacture of super abrasive grinding wheels
and tooling, is currently seeking a hands-on Chemical Engineer to join our team.
This position is located at our Lewis Center, Ohio facility.

Qualified candidates will possess the following background/experience:

  • A bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
  • 5 to 10 years experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • General knowledge of machine shop equipment
  • Experience in Electro Plating is a plus!
  • Experience with the manufacture of diamond grinding wheels is a plus!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the position include:

  • Learning how our products work to assist with new product design and development
  • Learning our manufacturing processes and performing research in order to recommend process changes or develop new processes to positively impact quality, delivery, costs and safety objectives
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
We are looking for an engineer with exceptional problem-solving and leadership skills,
plenty of initiative and the ability to thrive both as an individual and in a team environment.




INDUSTRIAL SALES PROFESSIONAL

Abrasive Technology currently has an opening for a Sales Professional to join our Sales and Business Development team. The position is located in Texas, ideally in the Houston or Dallas area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for industrial sales to the South Central United States (TX, OK, AR, LA and MS) with emphasis in the Aerospace and oil & gas markets
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with current and future customers
  • Establish multiple level customer contacts
  • Sell "Value & Cost-Effectiveness" to our customers
  • Determine optimized sales channels
  • Establish technical competence of Abrasive Technology and a technical rapport with customers
  • Define, achieve customer agreement, complete and document customer trials on new products/applications
  • Communicate efficiently with our internal customer service team members as necessary
  • Provide expertise for special projects, including trade shows, market research and product brochures/catalogues
  • Approximately 50% to 75% travel required

Qualified candidates will possess the following experience:

  • 5+ years experience working in a manufacturing / industrial sales role with a proven record of sales growth!
  • Fluency in Spanish and English languages is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred
  • Microsoft Office proficient
  • Experience and knowledge in grinding technologies and/or superabrasives is a plus
  • Experience with Visual Quality software is a plus

MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Abrasive Technology currently has an opening for a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering team. The position is located at our world headquarters in Lewis Center, off of Polaris Parkway and will support our multiple plant locations.

Qualified candidates will possess the following experience:

  • 5-7 years of experience in the design, build and scale-up in a manufacturing environment producing high volume (millions)/small parts
  • Experience in defining project specifications including: implementation, capabilities, tolerances, budget, timeline, scale-up, etc. working with outside vendors as necessary
  • Experience creating BOM and training manuals for newly developed equipment and training operators on the new equipment
  • Experience troubleshooting equipment problems
  • Experience with fixture design

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the position include:

  • Layout design, estimation analysis, inspection, and selection of equipment, supplies and services
  • Writing specifications and project scopes
  • Managing new and upgrade equipment installations to stay on schedule and on budget
  • Create mechanical engineering drawings that include plan views, elevation views, assembly instructions, detailed maintenance & troubleshooting documentation.
  • Manage multiple projects at a time
  • Research and recommend changes to manufacturing processes
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing in order to address production issues



MANUFACTURING OPPORTUNITIES

*Qualified Candidates for manufacturing positions will:

  • Have a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Possess good manual dexterity
  • Have lots of Initiative!
  • Be able to work successfully both independently and as a part of a team
  • Have a willingness and desire to learn
  • Preferably have basic computer skills
  • Be detail oriented, and
  • Be a strong team player
  • Experience working in manufacturing environment is a plus!


- F Bonding 2nd and 3rd Shift

Abrasive Technology currently has openings for an entry level manufacturing positions in our F-Bonding Process. These positions are available on 2nd and 3rd shifts and are located at our world headquarters in Lewis Center, off of Polaris Parkway.  Most of the tasks associated with these positions are performed while seated. These positions require a great deal of manual dexterity and patience. Previous work with small parts or microscopes a plus!
